After this first collision, the car also crashed head-on into a second truck that was traveling in the opposite direction. The woman succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene. Her son - a teenager - was rescued by teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to a hospital in Arapongas. The truck drivers, aged 37 and 32, took a breathalyzer test and none of them reported drinking alcohol. There is no information on what caused the collision.
