Businessman is kidnapped and rescued in the North Zone of Manaus The Public Ministry of the State of Amazonas (MPAM) launched, on Friday night (17), Operation "Prova Viva", which resulted in the preventive arrest of a Military Police corporal identified as Deimison Júnior Clarindo Cardoso. The police officer is being investigated on suspicion of being part of a criminal organization and participating in the kidnapping of an automotive businessman, which occurred earlier this week in Manaus. In addition to the arrest order, three search and seizure warrants were executed. All warrants were issued by the 3rd Court of the Jury Court of the District of Manaus. The action was jointly coordinated by the 60th and 61st Public Prosecutor's Offices Specialized in the External Control of Police Activity and Public Security (PROCEAPSP), with the support of the Department for the Repression of Organized Crime (DRCO), the Department of Justice and Military Police Discipline (DJD/PMAM) and the Specialized Police Station for Homicides and Kidnappings (DEHS). ? According to MPAM investigations, after being taken by criminals, the businessman would have been handed over to members of a faction to go through the so-called "crime court". After a type of internal investigation conducted by members of the criminal group themselves, who concluded that the accusations that led to the businessman's capture were unfounded, the victim was released. During the execution of the search and seizure warrants on Friday night, agents seized weapons that were without immediate documentation of regularity, as well as amounts of money that may have a direct relationship with the case. According to prosecutor Amando Gurgel Maia, the case remains under investigation to determine the real motivation for the action, whether there was an intention to murder the businessman and identify the possible participation of other people in the crime. At the time, security cameras recorded the action of hooded men who arrived in two cars. They approached the victim inside his own vehicle and forcibly placed him in one of the cars. Hours later, the businessman was located on Avenida G, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, also in the North Zone, showing bruises on his body and badly shaken. According to the police, the criminals even sent messages demanding ransom money, but the victim ended up being abandoned inside one of the cars used in the action and no objects were stolen. MORE
