According to the institution, he played an important role in training leaders, coordinating organizations and implementing projects aimed at keeping the forest standing. The institute also highlighted that Mariano's work impacted researchers, entrepreneurs, communities and organizations working in the Amazon. "Mariano leaves a legacy that transcends time. He will continue to be present in IDESAM's mission, in the people he trained, in the institutions he helped to strengthen and in each transformation built in favor of the Amazon", stated the institute in a statement.
