The crime According to the Public Ministry's complaint, Júlio César and Lorraine maintained a relationship for approximately a year and lived together for six months. According to the process, Lorraine was a victim of psychological violence and had already been physically attacked by her partner on another occasion. The episodes of violence led to the end of the relationship, a decision that, according to the investigation, was not accepted by the man. On the day of the crime, Júlio went to the house where Lorraine was staying with her mother, Maria Gorete, in the community of Buritis. Armed with a pistol, he shot the two several times. Maria Gorete died at the scene. Lorraine was rescued in serious condition, with injuries to her face. She survived, but was left with permanent injuries and lost her vision. Due to her health condition, she no longer lived with her two children. Maria Gorete was killed by her former son-in-law Júlio César Henrique da Silva.
