Man is rescued after kidnapping in confrontation with exchange of gunfire in Cabo Frio

During the escape, the suspects abandoned a pistol and split into two vehicles. In one of the cars, the police found three occupants, including the app driver who had been kidnapped. He was released without injuries. In the second vehicle, four people were approached. According to the police, two of the occupants were recognized as participants in the attack on the police team. One of the suspects was shot in the abdomen during the attack. He was rescued and taken to the Tamoios Emergency Care Unit (UPA), where he remains in custody. During the searches, police seized a pistol, a simulated firearm, narcotics, cell phones, cash and the two vehicles used by the suspects. Everyone involved was taken to the 126th Police Station (Cabo Frio), where the case was registered. The Civil Police will continue the investigations.
