Spanish media, citing emergency services sources, reported that the incident occurred at 7:25 am local time (6:15 am in Lisbon), in a laundry located on Rua Canteras, in Yeles.
The young woman was reportedly trapped in an area that was difficult to access, which made it difficult for firefighters to free her. The victim ended up dying at the scene.
The Civil Guard was also at the scene.
In a statement, cited by ABC España, the UGT union of Castilla-La Mancha lamented the death of the worker, highlighting that the accident "once again highlights the serious problem of work accidents in the region". The entity also demanded that "the causes of the tragic accident be investigated and clarified."
According to the most recent data from the Spanish Ministry of Labor, cited by the same vehicle, 20 workers died in Castilla-La Mancha between January and May. These statistics do not include deaths recorded during the summer months in the autonomous community.
"2026 will be a particularly tragic year in terms of workplace accidents, and this is something we cannot tolerate. What is at stake are human lives and the pain of many families", said the Secretary of Union Political Organization of UGT Castilla-La Mancha, Silvia López.
