Man is arrested for involvement in the disappearance of a young man in AM; two suspects are at large

The main line of investigation points out that the young woman was tortured by members of a criminal faction before disappearing. According to the Civil Police, the crime was motivated by supposed revenge after Radija had an extramarital relationship with Diego Chaves, partner of Milziane Neves Marques, identified as a member of the criminal group. Still according to the investigation, Milziane would have ordered the victim's torture and, later, determined the young woman's disappearance after discovering Radija's possible pregnancy. The court also issued arrest warrants against Milziane Neves Marques, identified by the police as the mastermind of the crime, and Diego Chaves, investigated for participation in the case and for threatening the victim's family members. The two remain at large. According to the delegate responsible for the investigations, Manoel's arrest could help clarify the young woman's whereabouts. "With the arrest, we now hope that the investigations will progress in order to locate the young woman, whether alive or, unfortunately, dead, so that the family can give a dignified farewell," he said. The Civil Police reported that investigations continue to locate Radija Gomes Marques, clarify the circumstances of her disappearance and arrest the others involved. Information that could help in the investigation can be passed on anonymously to the 38th Interactive Police Station (DIP) of Itapiranga, the Civil Police of Amazonas or by calling 181, of the State Secretariat of Public Security of Amazonas (SSP-AM).
