According to São Sebastião City Hall, five crew members were on the vessel, which sank in the São Sebastião Channel, near the Cigarras neighborhood, on the city's North Coast. The five victims were rescued by a private vessel and taken to the pier in the São Francisco neighborhood, where they received care from Civil Defense teams and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). With the death recorded in São Sebastião, the number of deaths confirmed during the strong winds that hit the state of São Paulo this Wednesday (29) rose to three. The other victims are a 62-year-old man, who died after a tree fell on the car he was driving in Cesário Lange, and a person who was hit by a tree during the windstorm in Baixada Santista. The fifth victim, a 50-year-old man, was found unconscious. Despite the resuscitation maneuvers carried out by the Samu team, he died during the journey to the hospital. The city hall reported that the municipality recorded wind gusts of up to 77 km/h during the afternoon. In addition to the sinking, there were fallen trees, poles, lighting structures, roofing and other damage caused by the storm in different regions of the city. The Civil Defense, Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), Samu, Traffic Department, Public Services Secretariat and Environmental Police teams remain mobilized to respond to events caused by the storm.
