"In the police field, he was always an exemplary police officer. He often resolved incidents through conversation, dialogue, without using violence. This attracted a lot of attention and inspired me. Because of his honesty and the way he acted, I thought: I have to pursue this career", he said. Football and community life Roberto remembers that his father was always present at the city's football tournaments and championships. "He was always present at the championships, whether playing or training. Football was one of the ways he connected with the community", he said. Cheese production and animal husbandry Manoel also maintained a farm in the town of Irineu, where he produced artisanal cheese and raised cattle, pigs and chickens. "He made the cheese himself and brought it to the municipality. Sometimes he sold it, sometimes he donated it. It was a way of contributing to the city", said Roberto. He said he will propose that the new police station be named after the agent. "He dedicated almost 40 years to the Civil Police. In Calçoene, he was not just a police officer, he was the face of the city. He always wanted to be here. He was a fantastic professional, everyone loved him within the Civil team. He was an incredible man. His fight will not be in vain, we will continue fighting... and I will work so that the new police station is called Manoel Raimundo", said Duarte. In a farewell tone, the son stated what he would say to his father if he could see him again. “I would thank him for everything he did for me, for all the teachings and for him being part of my life.” The police officer was buried this Tuesday (28), in the municipality of Calçoene, amid tributes and commotion from family, friends and the local community.
