According to the Public Ministry of Pernambuco (MPPE), the conviction involves the crimes of attempted qualified homicide, for a base reason and the use of a resource that made it difficult to defend the victims. The man was also sentenced for infractions related to drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm. Understand the crime The case originated in a series of attacks in the early hours of August 26, 2024. The violence occurred in the town of Serrolândia, Ipubi district, amid a dispute over control of the illegal drug trade in the region. According to the Public Ministry's complaint, the executioners invaded homes and shot the residents. The victims were seriously injured, but survived thanks to medical care. He had drugs, weighing equipment and the weapons used in the crimes. Ballistics expertise was decisive for the outcome of the trial. The reports confirmed that the weapons seized from the accused were the same ones used in the shooting of the victims, which established his direct link with the attacks.
