Civil Police of SC launches operation against money laundering and drug trafficking The Civil Police of Santa Catarina launched an operation this Tuesday (14) against a group suspected of laundering money from drug trafficking in different states in Brazil using a shell company that simulated the sale of mattresses. According to the investigation, the scheme generated more than R$1 billion. The establishment received proceeds from drug trafficking carried out by the group, especially in Palhoça, in Greater Florianópolis, and in other cities in the country. "It's a significant movement, all related to drug trafficking, which moves a lot of money. The company's economic activity would, in theory, be selling mattresses, but in practice it wasn't that, it was a drug finance company", detailed the investigator. Named "Tela Oculta", the operation in Santa Catarina takes place in cities in Greater Florianópolis, as well as Itapema, Balneário Camboriú, Imbituba and Porto Belo.
