Catolé do Rocha Civil Police Station, PB Disclosure/Civil Police A woman who had been on the run for more than 10 years after being convicted of mistreating her own daughter, an eight-month-old baby, was found and arrested in the city of Catolé do Rocha, Sertão da Paraíba, this Monday (20). According to the Civil Police, the arrest took place after reports about her whereabouts. The crime for which the woman was convicted took place in April 2015. Investigations showed that her daughter was a victim of sexual violence committed by a third party by whom the baby was cared for. The injuries caused the child's death. ? The woman was initially charged with qualified homicide, but during the process, the conviction was downgraded to the crime of ill-treatment resulting in death. The sentence was set at ten years in prison. More than ten years after the crime, the woman was arrested by the Civil Police after receiving information about the woman's whereabouts.
