From Porto Velho to Germany: RO DJ's music goes viral and gains international tracks The dream of taking his music to other places began to become a reality for music producer Iuri Brasil, known as Fortuna. Born in Porto Velho, the DJ saw his first original track cross borders: released less than two months ago, the song "Royalty" went viral on social media and was even played at an electronic music event in Germany by DJ NSLZ (see above). The international repercussion took Fortuna by surprise. In an interview with g1, the artist said that his passion for music began in his childhood and that he always dreamed of making a living from art. Even so, seeing one's own creation reach another country was something unexpected. "It was a mix of emotions. At first, without believing it, it didn't sink in. (...) Then I was overcome by excitement in the sense of 'wow, my music works in another country', how far can it reach", said Fortuna. Iuri's relationship with music began long before electronic production. At home, he was influenced by his aunt and sister, who heard a lot of flashbacks. Furthermore, as they are both ballet teachers, he grew up attending dance performances and having contact with different forms of artistic expression. Despite his passion for music, the path to becoming a DJ didn’t happen immediately. Trained as an electrical technician and civil engineer, Fortuna decided to prioritize his studies for a period. After leaving a formal job, he began to play in a relaxed manner at friends' birthdays and it was at these events that he realized the strength of "Royalty". "It ended up being a huge success here in Porto Velho. After I launched it on digital platforms, it went viral through some videos published on my Instagram. It became a snowball of sharing that is still spinning", he highlighted. At first, Fortuna created beats only for his partner, who is also a DJ, and for other local artists. Many of them, in fact, didn't even know that the projects had been produced by him. Now, with his first performance outside Porto Velho scheduled, the artist tries to understand what made "Royalty" win over so many people. For him, the connection created by music was one of the main factors. "I believe that the lyrics of the song are powerful, together with the violin melody, it became an epic song full of emotion. Some say they give them goosebumps, or get emotional. It's a connection beyond a song with cool beats, a timeless song that will always touch people's feelings", he said. With the track gaining ground outside Brazil, Fortuna intends to expand his career and also share the knowledge acquired over the years. The DJ said he plans to work as a music production teacher and continue using social media to reach new audiences. "I intend to work as a music production teacher and continue moving networks to arouse the interest of contractors, so I can see the public that is asking me in various places in Brazil and in some countries", he concluded.
