Registrations for Fies are extended until Sunday (19) The Student Financing Fund (Fies) has 3,740 vacancies open in private higher education institutions in Pará for the second semester of 2026. Registrations can be made until 11:59 pm this Sunday (19), through the Single Access Portal. The deadline, which would initially end on Friday (17), was extended. The Ministry of Education (MEC) extended the registration period, giving interested candidates more time to guarantee participation in the selection process. Fies is a federal government program that offers financing for students to pursue higher education at private institutions. According to the MEC, around 44,900 vacancies will be offered throughout Brazil in this edition of the second half of 2026. How does Fies work? Through Fies, it is possible to use the score from the National High School Exam (Enem) to request financing for monthly fees from a private educational institution. Attention: Unlike Prouni, the program does not offer scholarships, but rather a "loan". After completing graduation, the candidate must pay off the debt, in installments proportional to their income. When registering, the candidate must inform: valid email address for contact profile: ethnicity/color, whether or not they are quilombola, whether or not they are a person with a disability, whether or not they have completed higher education; up to three course/shift/location/HEI options among those available for registration, in order of priority; composition and income data of family group members.
