Tourism will be one of the highlights of the 2026 Entrepreneur Fair, which takes place from August 14th to 16th, at Multicenter Negócios e Eventos, in São Luís. At the ESG, Tourism and Creative Economy Arena, visitors will be able to learn about experiences, itineraries and investment opportunities in the 10 tourist hubs in Maranhão, presented by entrepreneurs, representatives of Regional Governance Instances (IGR's) and sector experts. In partnership with the State Secretariat for Tourism (SETUR/MA) and the IGR's, the program brings together opportunity pitches, lectures, workshops and conversation circles on sustainable tourism, creative economy, innovation, entrepreneurship in traditional communities and ESG practices applied to small businesses, among other topics. "Entrepreneurs who incorporate sustainable practices and value the identity of their territory transform culture, knowledge and local characteristics into a competitive differentiator. These are businesses that are more prepared to respond to the expectations of the current market and generate prosperity for their communities. We are bringing precisely this aspect to the Fair", highlights the coordinator of Arena ESG, Tourism and Creative Economy, Flávia Nadler. Highlighted centers: During the three days of the Fair, the tourist potential of the Chapada das Mesas, Cocais, Amazônia Maranhense, Floresta dos Guarás, Munim, Lagos and Campos Floridos, Sertão Maranhense, Serras Guajajara, Timbira and Kanela centers, as well as São Luís and Lençóis Maranhenses, will be presented. Among the participating entrepreneurs is Herly Agnes, from Aldeia do Leão, in Carolina. The venture combines ecotourism, environmental education, appreciation of the culture of native peoples and circular economy, transforming territorial identity into a competitive advantage. Herly Agnes and her husband Bruno Braga, from Aldeia do Leão, in Carolina-MA, lead a business that combines ecotourism, nature care and sustainability Disclosure "We can show a little of what we do in the south of Maranhão. People know our project, understand the purpose and end up connecting with our work", says the entrepreneur, who is participating in the Fair for the fourth time. For Luciana Bezerra, from Tria Viagens, in Caxias, and representative of Polo Cocais, participation in the Fair increases the visibility of destinations that are still little known to the general public. "Having tourism and hubs as a showcase within the Entrepreneur's Fair is very important. We are going to show a different Maranhão from that which is normally associated only with Lençóis Maranhenses and São Luís. Polo Cocais brings together experiences of historical-cultural tourism, nature tourism and tourism in quilombola communities, revealing opportunities for new visitors, investors and partners." In addition to the pitches, the Arena will feature debates on artificial intelligence applied to sustainability, circular economy, climate change, ancestral entrepreneurship, authorial fashion from Maranhão and the Sustainable Growth Platform, a Sebrae initiative aimed at ESG certification for small businesses and tourist communities. “Having tourism and hubs as a showcase within the Entrepreneur Fair is very important”, analyzes Luciana Bezerra, from Polo Cocais Disclosure The program also values ??creative economy initiatives developed by traditional, quilombola and indigenous communities. Among them is the Quilombás Project, a collective of quilombola women from Cantanhede that transforms the babassu coconut into biojewelry, baskets, soaps and other artisanal products, strengthening income generation and the preservation of ancestral knowledge. Maria Josiane Pacheco, from Projeto Quilombás, participates in the Entrepreneurial Wheel that highlights protagonism and entrepreneurship actions in Cantanhede-MA. Disclosure Another highlight will be the ESG Cinema, with the screening of the Maranhão documentary Mar de Lixo, in addition to the Indigenous Ancestral Fashion Show and the Saber Fazer Lounges, spaces dedicated to the appreciation of Maranhão's crafts and creative production.
