According to the Fire Department, the crash occurred at around 7:15 pm, near Ponte das Araras. With the impact, the drivers of both vehicles were trapped in the wreckage. They did not survive their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The causes of the accident will be investigated. ? According to firefighters, the bus was returning from Usina São Manoel, in the interior of São Paulo, and heading to Minas Novas, in the Vale do Jequitinhonha region, where some of the passengers live. Two teams from the Piumhi Fire Department and professionals from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called to respond to the incident. In addition to the Fire Department and Samu, the Military Highway Police (PMRv) and the concessionaire responsible for the highway also took part in the incident.
