He succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. According to the Civil Police, after the attacks, the farmer lit a fire and threw the dog, still alive, into the flames. The animal died at the scene. According to police chief Artur Andrade, the suspect continued the attacks until the dog could no longer walk. "The individual began to strike his own dog with a piece of wood. Not satisfied with having previously attacked the dog, he continued the attacks until the dog could no longer walk. He lit a fire and threw the dog, still alive, into the flames," said the delegate. According to the delegate, the farmer had previously been charged with threats, domestic violence and bodily harm against other people.
