The parties in question are scheduled to take place this Tuesday and also on Wednesday (15). The judge's decision highlights that, despite granting the right to hold the festivities, any salary irregularities must still continue to be investigated. The judge also highlighted that the resources allocated to São João and those allocated to the payroll have different budgetary origins and that canceling the event on the eve of the event could result in contractual fines, loss of resources from the agreements and damage to the city's commerce, hotels and service providers.

Understand the case Last week, the Paraíba Court had ordered the suspension of spending on celebrations in two festivities planned in the municipality of Princesa Isabel until the salaries of municipal employees are regularized. According to the first decision, workers hired through cooperatives would have suffered discounts of around 50% in salaries under the justification of a “June recess”, even while maintaining activities in essential health services. In the action, the Public Ministry of Paraíba (MPPB) pointed out recurring delays in the payment of permanent employees and the splitting of payment of the national nursing minimum, a practice that, according to the body, would be in disagreement with the legislation. Before taking legal action, the MPPB reported that it had issued a recommendation to the Municipality of Princesa Isabel to regularize the payroll and prioritize personnel expenses in relation to expenses considered non-essential.
