The action was carried out by teams from the Specialized Criminal Investigations Police Station (Deic) of Taubaté, during the fourth phase of Operation Game Over, which aims to combat the exploitation of gambling in the city. According to the police, the agents went to a wine cellar in the Parque Três Marias neighborhood, where they found video bingo equipment and two slot machines in operation. ? A digital betting recording machine, a television used to display the draws and two slot machines were seized. The wine cellar owner was taken to Deic headquarters to register the incident. The Civil Police reported that investigations continue and that new phases of Operation Game Over will be carried out to combat the exploitation of gambling and identify those responsible for the practice in the city. The exploitation of games of chance is prohibited in Brazil and is considered a criminal offense by article 50 of the Criminal Misdemeanors Law. The legislation establishes punishment for those who promote or exploit this type of activity with the possibility of imprisonment and fines.
