Currently, the hospital and UPA cost around R$5.3 million per month. According to Sadi Lucca, one of the objectives of the change is to make administration more efficient. “With this new management, I am sure that we will further improve the optimization of resources there, team management and especially service to the population,” he said. The city hall informed that the José Maria de Moraes Hospital will continue to serve exclusively through the Unified Health System (SUS). The mayor emphasized that the change does not represent the privatization of the unit. According to the municipal administration, outsourcing should also concentrate in a single institution the management of services that are currently performed through different contracts. During the press conference, it was informed that currently around ten companies operate in different areas of the hospital and the UPA.
