The Sala dos Toninhos, at Estação Cultura, is among the spaces that will host the activities of the 16th edition of the Hercule Florence Firmino Piton Festival. The Hercule Florence Festival, one of the main photography events in the country, starts this Wednesday (5) and runs until August 23, in Campinas (SP). With the theme "Territories in Transformation – From the Langsdorff Expedition to the Climate Crisis", this year's edition invites the public to reflect on environmental preservation and society's memory. The name pays homage to the inventor and pioneer of photography who lived in the city. During almost three weeks, the program spreads across museums, universities, public spaces and units of the Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) and the National Commercial Learning Service (Senac) in the city. The public will be able to participate in exhibitions, debates, workshops, immersive experiences and international meetings that bring together art, science and education. Among the highlights are well-known names in Brazilian photojournalism, such as Lalo de Almeida and Rogério Assis.
