Brazilian Federation of Hope launches Felipe Camarão as candidate for the government of Maranhão Rodrigo Bonfim/Grupo Mirante The Brazilian Federation of Hope (PT, PCdoB and PV) confirmed the candidacy of Felipe Camarão (PT) for the government of Maranhão. The decision was taken during a convention held this Saturday (1st), at the Centro Educa Mais Almirante Tamandaré, in the Cohab neighborhood, in São Luís. Felipe Camarão is vice-governor of Maranhão, professor and federal prosecutor and will run for office for the first time. He has already been elected as vice-president in 2022, on the ticket with the governor of Maranhão, Carlos Brandão (MDB). Other candidacies approved at the convention: Ricardo Rodrigues (PT) for vice-governor; Eliziane Gama (PT) and Enilton Rodrigues (PSOL) for the Senate.

During the convention, Felipe Camarão stated that the event marks the official beginning of his campaign for the Government of Maranhão and highlighted the priorities of a possible administration. "It's the start, it's the starting point, the day that truly marks our victory. The objectives of the campaign are to resume the Escola Digna program and fight for those who need it most, for those who are hungry and thirsty for justice. I will govern for the most humble people, who have often been forgotten in a quilombo, in an indigenous village, and who need better health and education", said the candidate. The Brazilian Federation of Hope (PT, PCdoB and PV) will contest this year's elections in Maranhão with the PSB and the PSOL/Rede Federation. Convention calendar Conventions are events in which party members meet to choose candidates in elections. The deadline is August 5th. Next, the names must be registered with the Superior Court (TSE) by August 15th. The election campaign officially begins the following day. In this year's elections, on October 4th, Brazilians will vote for: president; governor; Senate (two seats per state); federal deputy; state deputy. Felipe Camarão's trajectory Vice-governor Felipe Camarão makes official pre-candidacy for the Government of Maranhão Reproduction/Social media Felipe Camarão is 41 years old, born in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and is a lawyer, university professor and federal prosecutor. He is currently in his first term as vice-governor of Maranhão. He is married and has three children. Before being elected vice-governor in 2022, Felipe Camarão was Secretary of State for Education.
