Being well fed, hydrated and rested, in addition to presenting an official document with a photo, are essential precautions to participate in the donation campaign. Advisory/Credisis CrediBrás Saving lives can start with a gesture that takes just a few minutes. On the 10th and 11th of July, CrediSIS CrediBrás will hold the fifth edition of the Blood and Bone Marrow Donation Campaign, in Nova Brasilândia d’Oeste, a municipality in the Central Region of Rondônia. The action takes place at the Aurélio Buarque de Holanda State School, in partnership with the Rondônia Hematology and Hemotherapy Foundation (Fhemeron) and support from the City Hall, through the Municipal Health Department (Semusa), offering the population the opportunity to donate blood without having to travel to other municipalities. On Friday, service will be from 5pm to 7pm and, on Saturday, from 7am to 3pm. The campaign also seeks to raise awareness in the community about the importance of keeping blood supplies supplied throughout the year. The bags collected are destined for Fhemeron and used in surgeries, urgent and emergency care, oncology treatments and several other situations in which transfusion is essential to save lives. The president of the CrediSIS System, Otelo Castellani Filho, highlighted that initiatives like this translate, in practice, the commitment of cooperatives to the communities where they are present. According to him, promoting actions that bring essential services closer to the population also represents a way of putting into practice the seventh principle of cooperativism, focused on the interest of the community. "Each bag of blood represents an opportunity for someone to continue treatment, undergo surgery or overcome a delicate moment. When we bring this possibility closer to people, we show that cooperating also means creating conditions for solidarity to reach those who need it most. It is a simple gesture for those who donate, but of enormous significance for those who receive it", said Otelo. The history of the initiative shows that mobilization grows with each edition. In the last two campaigns, more than 300 bags of blood were collected, 130 in 2024 and another 173 in 2025, numbers that demonstrate the community's involvement and the impact of the initiative on the public health system. The initiative will be held at Escola Aurélio Buarque, bringing together volunteers, teams and the community, in yet another mobilization aimed at strengthening blood stocks in Rondônia. Advisory/Credisis CrediBrás Alexsandro Osowski, president of CrediSIS CrediBrás, highlighted that the expectation is to further expand this result and invited residents of Nova Brasilândia d’Oeste and neighboring municipalities to participate in the campaign. "Our expectation is to welcome both those who are already donors and those people who wish to make this gesture for the first time. The greater the community's participation, the greater our contribution will be to keeping the stocks supplied and serving patients from all over the state. We invite everyone to be part of this chain for life", said Alexsandro. The municipality does not have a permanent collection unit, which normally requires donors to travel to Rolim de Moura. By bringing the Fhemeron structure to Nova Brasilândia d'Oeste, the campaign reduces this barrier and expands the possibilities for participation, facilitating access to donations and allowing more people to contribute without having to travel on the road. "We know that many people want to donate, but are not always able to travel to another municipality. When we bring this structure to Nova Brasilândia, we bring this gesture of solidarity closer to the community and make participation much more accessible. This is what makes the campaign grow with each edition", explained the Administrative and Risk director of CrediSIS CrediBrás, Mirian Silva. Blood donation campaign mobilizes Nova Brasilândia in cooperation for life. The campaign also relies on joint work between partner institutions, employees and volunteers. This integrated action allowed the initiative to consolidate itself as one of the main social actions promoted by the cooperative throughout the year. Lucas Chiquessi, Executive and Financial Director of CrediSIS CrediBrás, highlighted that the campaign demonstrates how cooperation can generate benefits that go beyond the cooperative environment. "Each person who participates helps to build a large network of solidarity. Cooperativism also manifests itself in this way, when different institutions and the community work together for a common goal. We hope that more people will be part of this fifth edition and contribute to saving lives", said Chiquessi. Donating blood is cooperating with life Created in 2022, the CrediSIS CrediBrás Blood and Bone Marrow Donation Campaign was born to facilitate access to donation by residents of Nova Brasilândia d'Oeste. As the municipality does not have a blood bank, those interested needed to travel more than 60 kilometers to collect. The action became part of the cooperative's annual calendar, bringing the service closer to the community and encouraging the formation of new donors. A single bag of blood can benefit up to four people, being used in surgical procedures, emergency care, oncology treatments and several other clinical situations. To donate, you must be between 16 and 69 years old (minors with parental permission), weigh at least 50 kilos, be in good health, present official identification with a photo and follow the guidelines of the Fhemeron team, such as being fed, hydrated and having slept at least six hours the night before. It will also be possible to register for bone marrow donation. With each edition, more residents join the movement, strengthening a solidarity network that benefits patients in different regions of Rondônia.
