Rapper from São Paulo Rashid plans to release his sixth studio album, 'Cumulonimbus' in August Renato Nascimento / Disclosure ? NEWS ? A vertical cloud that announces the arrival of a storm, “Cumulonimbus” is the title of rapper Rashid's sixth studio album. The album is scheduled for release in August, but “Yowa” – the single that announces the arrival of the album “Cumulonimbus” – has already arrived today, Friday, July 10th, on audio apps, with a cover signed by Marcelo Lima. With the participation of pai de santo David Dias, the single “Yowa” was formatted with musical production by Ajaxx and co-production by Grou. Singer from the São Paulo collective Família Ébano, Fernando Ébano writes the vocal arrangement for the single mixed by João Milliet and mastered by Mike Bozzi in Los Angeles (USA). The title of the composition “Yowa” refers to a fundamental element of the Bakongo cosmogram, an ancestral symbol of the Bantu people that represents the continuous cycles of life and time. In words, Rashid himself: "This track 'Yowa' was born from a moment in which I started to look at my own trajectory and realize that life is made of crossroads all the time. Victory and defeat, arrival and farewell, everything happens at the same time. This song talks precisely about learning to go through these storms understanding that they are also part of who we are", contextualizes the artist from São Paulo. "I chose this track to open the work because the song presents the place the album will talk about. If 'Cumulonimbus' is the cloud that announces a storm, 'Yowa' is the first contact with the density of that storm", correlates the rapper, whose latest album, "Portal" (2024), was released two years ago.
