Ambulance loses its brakes, almost hits children and hits a car in Patrocínio Paulista, SP An ambulance from the Patrocínio Paulista City Hall (SP) had a brake failure and crashed into a parked car in the Aroeira neighborhood on Monday morning (27). Nobody was injured. According to city hall, the vehicle was stopped to pick up two patients when it started going down the street. Before the crash, the ambulance passed close to two children. Inside the vehicle were a man undergoing cancer treatment, who would be taken to Franca (SP), and an elderly woman who would go to Hospital do Coração. The driver was outside the ambulance and helping with boarding at the time of the accident. To g1, the Patrocínio Paulista City Hall reported that a mechanical failure in the brake components caused the accident. The video showed that, at 9:19 am, a white car was stopped on the road with the trunk open. Four people, two adults and two children, were outside, close to the vehicle. Afterwards, it was possible to see the ambulance speeding down the street. The vehicle hit a tree, hit the back of the white car and dragged it for a few meters before coming to a complete stop. People on the sidewalk managed to move away and were not hit. Panic and harm Housewife Jane Aparecida de Sousa, wife of the cancer patient who was on the stretcher, says she lived through moments of terror. She claims that she had just closed the gate of her house and, at the exact moment she was about to get into the ambulance, the vehicle shot down the hill. She says she despaired when she saw the scene, fearing the worst due to her husband's fragility, who weighs just 34 kilos. "I started calling the name of Jesus because he was the only one who could help at that time. And I started screaming because he weighs 34 kilos, what does he do in an ambulance on a stretcher? If it went down the slope you see here, it would flip over. What would happen? He would die. Very desperate", said Jane. Even if you fix it up, by the time I go to sell it, the value will be lost to me", lamented the housewife.
