Amazônia Que Eu Quero debates digital democracy and the impacts of technology on elections in Manaus. Disclosure The influence of new technologies on the electoral process will be the theme of the next panel of the Amazônia Que Eu Quero (AMQQ) project, which takes place on Thursday (23), from 2pm to 4pm, at the Vasco Vasques Convention Center, in Manaus. The meeting will bring together experts to discuss how tools such as artificial intelligence, social networks and digital platforms have transformed access to information, citizen participation and society's relationship with democracy. With the theme “Democracy in the digital age: how do new technologies influence your vote?”, the panel is part of the Digital Summit Experience (DSX) 2026 program, an event focused on innovation, technology and business, which will be held on the 23rd and 24th of July in the capital of Amazonas. The proposal is to promote a discussion about current challenges, such as the dissemination of misinformation, security in the digital environment, the use of artificial intelligence and the impacts of these transformations on the democratic process. ? Judge Mônica Câmara do Carmo, head of the 10th Civil Court of the Court of Justice of Amazonas (TJAM), acts as an assistant judge of the Presidency of the Regional Electoral Court of Amazonas (TRE-AM) and chairs the Court's Commission to Combat Disinformation. Master in Social Function of Law and postgraduate degree in Philosophy and General Theory of Law, she is also a member of the TRE-AM Electoral Propaganda Commission and develops work related to combating human trafficking and slave labor at the National Council of Justice (CNJ). Also participating in the panel is Professor Jucimar Maia da Silva Jr., director of the Higher School of Technology at the State University of Amazonas (UEA). Computer Scientist graduated from the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), with a master's and doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), works in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Electronic Games. Currently, he also holds the vice-presidency of the State Council of Science, Technology and Innovation of Amazonas (Conecti). The third panelist will be lawyer Helso do Carmo Ribeiro Filho, president of the International Relations Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association – Amazonas Section (OAB-AM). Graduated in Legal and Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and in Philosophy from Ufam, he has a career in the areas of Law, teaching and institutional relations. The mediation will be carried out by journalist Ruthiene Bindá, who will lead the conversation between the guests. Construction of proposals In addition to the panel, the project will hold, on Friday (24), from 9 am to 11 am, a Public Policy Canvas, at the Rede Amazônica stand, also at the Vasco Vasques Convention Center. The activity aims to bring together participants to develop proposals related to the edition's theme, encouraging the collective construction of solutions to challenges linked to democracy and digital transformation. About the project Created in 2018, Amazônia Que Eu Quero is an initiative by the Rede Amazônica Foundation and the Rede Amazônica Group aimed at political education and encouraging social participation. The project promotes debates between representatives from different sectors of society to discuss proposals aimed at the development of the Amazon. This year, the initiative's theme is “Democracy in the digital age: the use of new technologies in the electoral process”, seeking to expand the debate on the effects of digital transformation on citizens' lives and democratic participation.
