On the first occasion, she was taken to a vegetation area, but she reappeared. Cart driver José Aparecido dos Santos Filho, who helped with the capture, stated that the group decided to collect the animal because residents were afraid. "She appeared once, we put her in the bush and she came back again. The people were scared, so we caught her and put her in a drum. We didn't mistreat her in any way," he said.
