SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - Runner Júlio Barreto died after participating in the SP City Marathon, held this Sunday (26), in São Paulo.

The death was reported by the race organization. According to the publication, he felt ill after completing the test and lost consciousness.

Júlio was treated at the scene and resuscitation maneuvers were carried out. He was taken to the hospital, but died.

The race had two distances. One of the routes would be 21.1 km long, while the longest was 42.2 km long.

The runner worked at the company Danone. According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked as a market access manager, focusing on supplementary health, specialized nutrition and oncology. He also had experience in the pharmaceutical market.

Júlio had a degree in social communication, advertising and advertising. He took the course between 1996 and 1999, at FMU. The runner also had a postgraduate degree in administration and marketing from the same college.

Upon arrival, Júlio experienced an episode of loss of consciousness and lack of response to stimuli, and was promptly attended to by the event's medical team, who began resuscitation maneuvers while still on site. Referred to the hospital, he received all the advanced support available, but, despite all efforts, he did not survive.

The medical team, volunteers and the entire organization sympathize with his family, friends and everyone who ran alongside him this Sunday (26). At this moment, what is up to us is respect, silence and acceptance.
