Rodrigo Caetano asks for a complete cycle and warns: 'complete trust in Ancelotti'
(UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - Strong man of CBF football, Rodrigo Caetano left the stadium in New Jersey asking for a next cycle with "a minimum of tranquility" after Brazil's elimination to Norway in the round of 16 of the World...
The national team coordinator also criticized the tumultuous preparation for the 2026 World Cup and said he has complete confidence in Carlo Ancelotti.
"Everyone is sad and frustrated. But we cannot invalidate the 38 days we spent together where the athletes showed a level of commitment and professionalism from the first to the last day. We were at a stage where we had everything to move forward, even though the cycle was not ideal", he began.
"It is up to us to emphasize the need to have a cycle within normality, with a little more calm, work with continuity and that we have a minimum of tranquility to move forward and plan the next World Cup", he added.
Rodrigo also ruled out any change in command of the Brazilian team and praised the decision made by Samir Xaud to renew Ancelotti's contract even before the start of this World Cup.
It is worth remembering that Rodrigo Caetano's own contract had been renewed until 2030, as had already happened with the Italian coach.
"The CBF trusted the coach even before the result, why won't it trust it now? That's good, because if it were different we would be forever starting over. Look at very strong teams with 16 years under the same coach, and they weren't successful in the first few years. I'm not asking us to have this tolerance, but it's good to have a contract renewed even before the World Cup. This signals confidence and conviction in the cycle that's about to begin", he concluded.
