According to a note released by the band this Thursday (23), the percussionist was no longer able to fulfill his professional commitments. A member of the group since its creation, Chorão stated on June 29 that he was not participating in the shows due to personal problems and that he had also been offended by a member of the team. In another video, the percussionist stated that he was prevented from performing due to the band's decision. In the note released by Os Travessos, the group states that the artist's problem is related to alcoholism, that he "never let go of Chorão's hand" and that leaving the group was a decision made by the artist himself, not the band. "Our story with Chorão didn't start yesterday. It's been 30 years of friendship, of journeying and of challenges overcome together in music. Because we have this awareness and this love, the group Os Travessos and the Dias Shows office never let go of his hand. Over the years, we financed treatments and rehabilitation clinics (which were interrupted by his decision) and changed the routine in our dressing rooms, removing drinks to avoid triggers — which often generated conflicts due to the withdrawal crises that he faced", says an excerpt from the statement.
