Tributes to Preta Gil, one year after saying goodbye During the months in which she was hospitalized to treat cancer, Preta Gil transformed her hospital room into a meeting point for friends, family and artists. The singer's intense support network is one of the highlights of "Preta, Eu Não Ando Só", a documentary that brings together never-before-seen images recorded by the artist herself and people close to her over the course of more than two years. Among the famous friends who were by Preta's side during her hospitalization are Luciano Huck, Angélica and Ivete Sangalo. The two appear in the documentary remembering moments alongside the singer and highlighting the strength of the bonds of friendship built by her throughout her life. Luciano Huck states that Preta had the gift of welcoming people and bringing together different groups of friends. According to the presenter, she formed a true "chosen family", capable of remaining together even in the most difficult times. Ivete Sangalo gets emotional remembering her time with her friend and says that it was friendship — more than any other relationship — that sustained the group during the treatment. "Friendship, in this case, made all the difference. We supported each other at all times and continue to do so", says the singer. In their statements, friends say that the movement was so intense that the room gained a nickname among the hospital staff. "People said it was Preta Gil's cabin, because it didn't even look like she was in the hospital", recalls one of them. Although visits were limited to two people at a time, the room often brought together dozens of friends throughout the day. The images show meetings marked by conversations, laughter and displays of affection, reinforcing one of the singer's most remembered characteristics: her ability to bring people together and cultivate friendships. The documentary also reveals that Preta herself made the decision to record the entire journey since being diagnosed with bowel cancer, in 2023. She encouraged friends and family to film exams, surgeries, moments of recovery and even everyday situations, with the aim of sharing her experience and expanding the debate about the disease.
