And it is as a trio – made up of Ana Costa (voice and guitar), Fabiano Salek (voice and percussion) and Silvio Carvalho (voice and percussion) – that Sururu rounds off the date and celebrates 25 years of career with the album “Na Linha do Tempo”. In rotation on audio players from tomorrow, Friday, July 24th, the album was recorded under the musical direction of Rildo Hora, a producer of fundamental importance in the discographies of Beth Carvalho (1946 – 2019), Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho. In the timeline of the repertoire made up solely of re-recordings of samba hits, the group from Rio goes from Noel Rosa (1910 – 1937) and Vadico (1910 – 1962) – composers of the samba-choro “Conversa de botequim” (1935) – to Dudu Nobre and Roque Ferreira, partners in “Água da minha sede”, a samba released by Zeca Pagodinho in 2000, year of the creation of Sururu na Roda. The chronology of the repertoire of the album “Na Linha do Tempo” encompasses sambas by Martinho da Vila (“Ex-amor”, from 1981) and Gonzaguinha (1945 – 1991), whose group rewinds the politicized samba “É” (1988). In a selection dominated by sambas released in the 1980s, Sururu also reopens “Testamento de partideiro” (Candeia, 1976), remakes “Mutirão de amor” (Jorge Aragão, Zeca Pagodinho and Sombrinha, 1983), revives “Seja sambista está” (Arlindo Cruz and Sombrinha, 1984), and rekindles “Fogo de saudade” (Sombrinha and Adilson Victor, 1986), gives “Sorriso Aberto” (Guaraci Sant'anna, o Guará, 1988)” and replants “Pura Semente” (Acyr Marques and Arlindo Cruz, 1989).
