France is trying to play in the semi-finals for the third consecutive World Cup. Champion in 2018 and runner-up in 2022, the team won every game it played in the edition and is coming off the tightest triumph in the round of 16: 1-0 against Paraguay. Mbappé, with seven goals scored, is the team's highlight and is fighting for the competition's top scorer.
Morocco wants to repeat the last World Cup and reach the semi-finals again, but to do so they will have to go through the tormentor of the last World Cup: France. The Atlas Lions have been accumulating continental records and have already become the first African team to reach the quarter-final stage twice in a row, leading the continent in number of victories (eight) and goals in World Cups, with 30.

The team's top scorer, Ismael Saibari, who was injured early in the round of 16 match against Canada, is out of the match. Soufiane Rahimi, who came on in the last game and scored, should inherit the spot.
