Weather forecast: rain returns to the South and dry weather predominates in the Midwest

The approach of new weather systems causes rain again in southern Brazil this Monday (3), while a mass of dry air keeps the weather steady in much of the other regions of the country.

According to Climatempo, the highlight is the heat, low air humidity and the risk of fires, mainly in the Central-West, in addition to the typical afternoon showers in the North region.

South Region

This Monday, in the South Region, the weather becomes unstable again, especially in Rio Grande do Sul, with the approach of a new weather system.

Areas of instability associated with a low pressure system between Paraguay and northern Argentina, in addition to the action of a trough in the middle levels of the atmosphere, favor rain showers in the early hours of the day in the west, southwest and part of the Campanha Gaúcha, with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms.

In the morning, instability also increases in the northwest and south coast of Rio Grande do Sul, advancing further to the west of Santa Catarina.

Throughout the day, instability also increases in other areas of the coast, northeast and Serra Gaúcha, in addition to the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, the south and interior of Santa Catarina and southern Paraná.

Especially in the west and south of Rio Grande do Sul, there is a warning for isolated thunderstorms.

By the end of the day, instability decreases in these areas, but a new cold front approaches the state of Rio Grande do Sul, associated with a low pressure system close to the coast between Uruguay and Rio Grande do Sul, favoring rain showers again in the south, south coast and Campanha Gaúcha, with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms.

In other areas, the weather remains firm, with few clouds in the sky throughout the day.

Temperatures remain pleasant in much of the region, while in the west of Santa Catarina, west, northwest and north of Paraná, thermometers rise more.

Southeast Region

In the Southeast, a drier air mass continues to predominate, guaranteeing stable weather in much of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro.

The sun appears between few clouds, with no significant rain forecast.

Only the coast and north of Espírito Santo and the northeast of Minas Gerais may experience greater cloudiness and the occurrence of light and temporary rain due to the circulation of maritime winds associated with high pressure in the South Atlantic.

Temperatures increase during the afternoon in much of the region, and relative humidity tends to decrease in the northern and eastern half of São Paulo, the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, the Triângulo Mineiro and the central-west of Minas Gerais.

Midwest Region

In the Midwest, the weather remains firm under the influence of the dry air mass.

Goiás, the Federal District and a large part of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso will have a predominance of sunshine, high temperatures, low cloud cover and low levels of relative humidity in the hottest hours of the day in practically the entire region.

Between the end of the morning and throughout the day, areas of instability associated with a low pressure system between Paraguay and northern Argentina favor increased cloudiness and rain showers in the west, northwest and southwest of Mato Grosso do Sul, with thunderstorms, also reinforced by the flow of moisture coming from the North Region of the country.

In the southwest, west and northwest of Mato Grosso there is also a forecast of isolated rain, favored by the daytime heating and humidity coming from the Northern Region of the country.

Highlight for Mato Grosso

- Mass of dry air keeps the weather firm throughout the state over the next few days.

- Intense heat persists, with temperatures between 35°C and 37°C.

- Cuiabá continues with no rain forecast, with maximum temperatures of up to 37°C during the period.

- Relative air humidity remains low, with levels between 20% and 30% during the afternoons.

- Isolated rain showers may occur in the west, southwest and northwest of the state, due to moisture coming from the Amazon.

- There is no expectation of a cold front advancing or widespread rain over Mato Grosso.

- The main highlight continues to be the combination of dry weather, heat and low humidity, which increases the risk of fires.

Northeast Region

In the Northeast, the cold front that advanced along the coast of Bahia during the weekend still favors greater cloudiness and rain along the southern coast of Bahia, although the trend is for a gradual reduction in instability.

Between the region of Salvador and the coastal strip of Rio Grande do Norte, rapid rain showers continue to occur, with light to moderate intensity, associated with humid winds from the ocean, while the interior of the region remains under the influence of the dry air mass, with low relative humidity, firm weather and high temperatures in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, on the coast of Bahia and in areas on the east coast of the region, thermometers should not rise as much compared to the interior of the region.

North Region

In the North, the typical convection pattern continues to predominate.

Rain showers, sometimes moderate to heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, should occur mainly between the north and west of Amazonas, Roraima, Amapá, north and northwest of Pará and Rondônia, concentrating between the afternoon and night.

In the west of Acre, it rains lightly, while in other areas of the state, in addition to a large part of Pará, Tocantins, east and interior of Amazonas, the weather remains firm.

Temperatures rise and air humidity remains low in Tocantins and central-southern Pará.
