Rio Grande do Sul has 206 cities affected by heavy rains

The Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul reported this Saturday (25) that 206 cities were affected by the heavy rains, winds and hail that began last week in the state. The number of homeless people reaches 682 people in 47 municipalities.

The damage includes, among others, power cuts, roofing of buildings, falling barriers, submerged bridges and flooding.

According to Civil Defense, this Sunday (26), there is a condition for isolated storms with hail and moderate to occasionally heavy rain in the northwest, north, northeast, mountains, metropolitan region of Porto Alegre and the north coast.

From Monday (27) to Tuesday (28), the risk of severe storms increases, with hail, gusts of wind (over 90 km/h) and intense rain, especially in the west, Campanha, center, south, Costa Doce, metropolitan region of Porto Alegre and the coast (alert area).

Accumulated rainfall can exceed 120 millimeters in a short space of time, especially on the 28th, and can reach 200 millimeters in 48 hours.
