União Brasil unanimously approved the candidacy of former governor Mauro Mendes for the Senate and the candidates for the Federal Chamber, which include former first lady Virginia Mendes and federal deputy Fábio Garcia.

In total, there will be six names that will run for the Chamber. The definition took place during the Union convention, which takes place this Thursday (30).

In addition to these, the list will be completed with three others nominated by the PP, which together forms the Progressive Union Federation.

The Union's list also includes federal deputy Gisela Simona, businessman from Alta Floresta Ednei Blasius, vice-mayor of Rondonópolis, Altemar Lopes, and businessman Carlos Sanchez Roman.

To the press, Virginia said that she intends to take to the Chamber of Deputies the agendas she defended as first lady, especially the defenses of the most vulnerable.

"With great humility, I make my name available to the population of Mato Grosso. If this is the will of God and the people of Mato Grosso, I want to work hard in Brasília to continue helping people, especially in the social areas, protecting women, the elderly, children and everyone who needs it most", he said.

Name for the Senate

Mendes stated that he intends to take to the Senate the experience acquired as mayor of Cuiabá and governor for two terms, defending the interests of Mato Grosso and Brazilians in Brasília.

"I want to thank all the conventional workers and everyone who was present. It was an honor to help govern Mato Grosso and participate in so many important transformations for our State. If this is the will of God and the majority of the population, I want to represent Mato Grosso in the Senate with the same commitment and dedication that marked our administration", he highlighted.
