Police arrest young man accused of storing videos of child abuse

The court order was issued by the Justice 4.0 Center of the Judge of Guarantees – Polo Tangará da Serra.

Investigations by the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Computer Crimes (DRCI) began after the identification of evidence of storage of files containing sexual abuse material of children and adolescents on the internet.

During the investigation, a search and seizure warrant was carried out at the beginning of this year at the residence of the person being investigated, at which time electronic devices were seized that supported the progress of the investigations and the production of evidence.

During the search, another person under investigation was also arrested in the act, who stored hundreds of files containing sexual abuse material of children and adolescents.

With the deepening of the investigations and the analysis of the seized material, the police team gathered elements that supported the representation for the preventive detention of the person being investigated.

The measure was granted by the Judiciary and fulfilled in this third phase of Operation CESI-MT. The term CESI is an acronym for Combating Child Sexual Exploitation.
