The mayor of Várzea Grande, Flávia Moretti (PL), promoted a change in command of the Municipal Comptroller General. The change was made official through acts published this Tuesday (21.07), in an extra edition of the Official Journal of Municipalities (AMMMT), which exempted career civil servant Elizangela Batista de Oliveira from the role of general controller and appointed lawyer Ivan Echeverria Neto to the position.

The dismissal was made official through Act No. 731/2026, published in the Official Gazette of Municipalities. The document determines the departure of Elizangela from the position of General Controller – DNS 01, with effect from July 21st.

Elizangela Batista de Oliveira is a permanent employee of the municipality and has been part of the first echelon since the first days of the Flávia Moretti administration, when she was appointed to command the General Comptroller's Office on January 6, 2025. During her tenure, she was in charge of the body responsible for internal control, monitoring the legality of administrative acts and monitoring the application of public resources.

Subsequently, the mayor signed Act nº 732/2026, which appoints Ivan Echeverria Neto to exercise the role of General Controller – DNS 01, also with immediate effect.

The new controller general, Ivan Echeverria Neto, has a law degree from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), since 2015. He works as a lawyer and is also a banking technician at Caixa Econômica Federal.

Várzea Grande City Hall did not inform the reasons for the replacement nor did it clarify whether the change is part of an administrative restructuring. The acts were signed by Mayor Flávia Moretti and came into force this Tuesday.
