Tafnes has been in prison since June 30, following a complaint made by a person who was in contact with one of the victims and noticed strange behavior. The suspect admitted to the crime and remains in prison.
After Tafnes' arrest, the Civil Police reached Fábio Serafim, owner of a gas station on the banks of BR-163.
He was the target of Operation Puer Defensus, launched to investigate crimes of rape of vulnerable people, dissemination and storage of child sexual exploitation material.
During the operation, an arrest warrant was served against the businessman and two search and seizure warrants were served, one against Fábio and the other against his 45-year-old wife, also investigated for possible participation in the events.
The woman, whose name was not released, was subject to various precautionary measures in prison, including breach of telephone confidentiality and seizure of electronic equipment.
During compliance with court orders, police officers seized firearms and ammunition, cell phones, computers, storage media, security camera system chips, VHS tapes and other objects.
The materials will be sent for forensic examination and analyzed during the investigation.
Investigation
According to the Civil Police, the investigation began after the arrest of Tafnes, suspected of soliciting minors and providing audiovisual material containing child sexual exploitation.
From the extraction of data from the cell phone of the investigated woman and her confession, it was possible to identify the couple targeted by Operation Puer Defensus.
The investigations revealed the existence of videos and photographs involving underage victims and the businessman being investigated, which supported the request for precautionary measures authorized by the Judiciary.
The investigations remain confidential due to the nature of the crimes and the fact that the victims are minors.
The Civil Police seeks to completely clarify the facts, identify possible co-authors and hold those involved criminally responsible.
