The career break was announced by Jão in January last year. In March, he performed at Lollapalooza and, soon after, he made his departure from the spotlight official with a post on his Instagram.
"I'm not tired or sad, on the contrary. I'm bright-eyed, full of desire to create something worthwhile, but this obligatory omnipresence of artists in our country gives me a little anxiety", he explained.
Shortly after the hiatus was announced, the artist had to deal with the loss of his father, Carlos Alberto Balbino, who died at the age of 61 in May 2025.
On social networks, fans celebrated Jão's return and speculated about the musical and aesthetic innovations that will be presented by the singer in this new era of his career.
