According to her obituary, Christine Anne Boldt was born in December 1942, in New York City. She graduated from Harvard University and worked as a teacher for 35 years. She retired in 2008 and was a lifelong supporter of civil rights, being one of the first Freedom Riders, a group of activists who traveled to the southern United States during the 1960s to protest racial segregation.
Chris Anne Affleck and her ex-husband, Timothy Affleck, had their first child, actor Ben Affleck, on August 15, 1972. Three years later, on August 12, 1975, the couple's second son, Casey Affleck, was born.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2012, Ben Affleck spoke about his parents.
"My mother was a public school teacher, studied at Harvard, got her master's degree there and continued teaching at a public school. My father had a simpler life, typical of the working class. He didn't go to college. He worked as a mechanic, bartender and also as a cleaner at Harvard", recalled the actor.
Chris Anne Affleck and Timothy Affleck divorced when Ben was 12 years old.
In addition to her children, Chris Anne leaves behind five grandchildren: Atticus and Indiana, Casey Affleck's children, and Violet, Fin and Sam, Ben Affleck's children.
