Woman dies in celebration after flag gets stuck on motorcycle

According to the Algeciras Local Police, the victim was on a motorcycle with another person when he suffered the accident. The main suspicion is that a Moroccan national team flag, which she wore tied around her neck, got stuck in the rear wheel of the vehicle.

The situation caused serious injury to the woman, who was found unconscious at the scene. Agents from the Local Police, Guardia Civil and a medical team were called and tried to revive her, but without success.

According to the newspaper El Mundo, the victim was taken by emergency services to Punta Europa Hospital, where death was confirmed shortly afterwards.

The other occupant of the motorcycle was the woman's husband. He underwent a breathalyzer test, which showed 0% alcohol in his blood.

The alert for the accident was made around 11pm on Saturday, local time.

The mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, lamented the death and said he was deeply saddened by the tragedy. He also expressed solidarity with the victim's family and friends.
