(UOL/FOLHAPRESS) - With delayed salaries and prohibited from registering new players due to FIFA's transfer ban, Santos will not have many or impactful signings for the second half of the year.

Given the financial problems, Peixe's main bets for the continuation of the Brazilian Championship, the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Sudamericana will be the Meninos da Vila who, in November last year, won the Campeonato Paulista U20.

FOUR BOYS FROM THE VILLAGE ON CUCA’S RADAR

During the interseason at CT Rei Pelé, coach Cuca has been closely observing several boys who shone in that state victory.

Some of them, such as Venezuelan midfielder Profeta, 20, and attacking midfielders Pepê Firmino, 19, and Nadson, 17, have been catching the coach's attention.

The person who has most excited the professional coaching staff, however, is striker Vinícius Fabri, 18 years old. He did not participate in last year's São Paulo title because he was part of the under-17 team at the time, but he has skipped stages.

The young man was highly praised internally for his performance and for the two goals scored in the 4-1 victory over Botafogo, at CT Rei Pelé, this Wednesday (8), in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Brasileirão U20.

Just as happened in the friendly against União São João at Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu, Saturday (4), Fabri should be used by Cuca in this Thursday's training game (9), against Osasco Sporting.

NADSON PLEASES THE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

Absent from the Pacaembu test, Nadson also has a good chance of participating in this Thursday's activity. The 17-year-old midfielder did very well against Botafogo and pleased Cuca, who watched the clash from the CT stands.

Despite his young age, he is treated internally as the next great revelation of the Santos base.

REGULAR PRESENCE AT PROFESSIONALS

In addition to Profeta, Pepê Firmino and Nadson, the São Paulo under-20 champions already have other representatives in the main squad.

These are the cases of defenders João Ananias and João Alencar, both 19 years old, midfielder Gustavo Henrique, 21, and striker Mateus Xavier, 19.

Left-back Vinícius Lira, 18, is also part of this group, but is recovering from cruciate ligament surgery on his left knee, which he underwent in March.

To complete the package of home solutions, Santos is still betting on striker Davizinho, 17 years old, who can play on the problematic right flank, and midfielder Samuel Pierri, 18, to fill out Cuca's squad for the remainder of the year.
