The trend gained strength on the eve of the match between Brazil and Norway, scheduled for Sunday (5), in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, which helped to increase the repercussion of the memes. In one of the first versions, the Brazilian striker appears playing a scene inspired by the character played by Terry Crews, while Haaland takes on the role of one of the comedy's protagonists.
Although the players initially reacted lightly - the Norwegian even suggested recreating the scene and Vinicius Jr. responded with laughter -, new montages became the target of criticism.
In one of them, Vinicius Jr. appears alongside Haaland in situations considered by internet users to be in bad taste, which increased the controversy and divided opinions.
In her outburst, Vanessa stated that she does not consider the content funny and said she sees broader problems in the repercussion of memes. "I'm the only one who doesn't find it funny, in fact, I find it absolutely in bad taste and very symbolic of what we've experienced in recent moments, the unbelievable memes about the game between the boys from Brazil against Norway and our boys abusing a blond guy?", he wrote.
The singer continued to criticize what she called the trivialization of topics linked to sexual violence. "Using it in a hyper sexualized, trivialized way, and making fun of fear, fear of abuse, rape, even if in an old film (...) It's no longer funny to be perverse in 2026. We need to eliminate dull graces," he stated.
She also highlighted that, in her opinion, the discussion is not restricted to women. "Finding rape culture funny is, to say the least, suspicious (...) many straight men have suffered this, have had trauma or terrible fears," he said.
Vanessa also questioned the creativity of the content and criticized the naturalization of the topic. "Absolutely absurd and real negative. This is highly worrying and not funny," he added.
