The Uruguayan, who plays for Tigres, used his hand to cover his mouth while arguing with a rival during the game between Tijuana. The move happened at the end of the first half.
Aguirre was arguing with Gómez, from Tijuana, when he covered his mouth to say something. The referee did not notice the moment on the field, but was alerted by the VAR, went to the monitor, checked the move and then sent off the Uruguayan. Tijuana won the match 3-1.
The "Vini Jr law." began to be applied in the World Cup. Midfielder Miguel Almirón (Paraguay) and defender Piero Hincapié (Ecuador) were sent off in games against Turkey and Mexico, respectively, for covering their mouths while arguing with rivals.
