RIO DE JANEIRO, RJ (FOLHAPRESS) - A three-year-old boy died after being attacked by his father in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, according to the Civil Police. The boy's father and mother were arrested....
According to the investigation, the boy was attacked around 6:30 am on Sunday (5) in the family home.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, but did not survive and died on Wednesday afternoon (8). The names of those involved were not disclosed.
The father, according to police, confessed to having assaulted his son. The attack would have occurred after the boy had not said "good morning" as expected.
He was arrested while still in the hospital by the Military Brigade, the Rio Grande do Sul PM. The couple has lived in the region for a few months.
The mother was preventively arrested this Thursday afternoon (9). The investigation indicated that she had connived at the attacks against the boy. She is also suspected of having committed acts of violence against her children.
The couple has four other children under the age of 18, all born in Brazil, according to police. They were taken to shelters and are monitored by the Guardianship Council.
According to the investigation, the family has a history of violence, with police records in other states.
