As revealed by Estadão/Broadcast, Flávio asked representatives for their countries to send observers to monitor the Brazilian elections and associated, without presenting evidence, the ballot boxes used in the country with suspicions of electoral manipulation in Venezuela.
"Look, I trust the ballot boxes. Because if I didn't, I wouldn't be running in the election, right? It was the ballot boxes that brought me here," said Tarcísio, at a press conference.
"I think we have to discuss the project. The important thing is to discuss the project, look at what Brazil needs and get out of this discussion that won't lead anywhere", he added.
The head of the São Paulo Executive participated in an event celebrating 25 years of BandNewsTV, in the capital of São Paulo. Also present were the Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB); ministers Sidônio Palmeira, from the Secretariat of Social Communication, and Frederico Siqueira, from Communications; in addition to the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB).
On Tuesday, the 21st, Flávio was speaking at the “Debating Brazil” event, promoted by the Novo Selo Comunicação agency and the website The Brazilian Report, when he mentioned that his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, was sentenced to ineligibility by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), in 2023, precisely due to a meeting with ambassadors. Throughout the exhibition, the pre-candidate repeated false information about the polls.
The senator cited a CIA document that points to suspicions of manipulation in the 2010 Venezuelan elections and stated that part of the ballot boxes used in Brazil “have the same origin” as the company Smartmatic, mentioned in the report.
The Superior Electoral Court has already denied this association in a 2020 note, in which it states that the Brazilian electronic voting system was designed and is administered exclusively by the Electoral Court.
The statements provoked a legal reaction from the opposing camp. The Brazilian Federation of Hope, formed by PT, PCdoB and PV, filed a representation with the TSE this Wednesday against Flávio for the statements.
The parties argue that the senator released information that was known to be false. According to the representation, the CIA report cited by him only deals with Smartmatic's operations in Venezuela and does not make any reference to the Brazilian electoral system.
In the action, the federation asks the TSE to determine, as a preliminary measure, the removal of publications on the subject made by Eduardo Bolsonaro, Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) and Júlia Zanatta (PL-SC).
The parties also request that the four parliamentarians be prohibited from propagating the association between Smartmatic and Brazilian electronic voting machines, under penalty of a fine of R$30,000 for each at the end of the process.

Tarcísio also stated that it is necessary to “stop looking for narratives” when commenting on Flávio Bolsonaro’s relationship with the 25% tariff imposed by the United States on Brazilian products this Wednesday, 22nd.
