The attack resulted in the deaths of two men and a woman. The case occurred in an establishment located at the intersection of Avenida Guilherme de Paula Xavier and Rua Mato Grosso, in the central area of ??the city.
Victims were identified by authorities. The dead are Marcio Bertholdi Geraldo, 43, Michael Zachytko Cavalcante, 38, and Veridiana Gaya Menin Machado Sate, 40. The other two injured people are 23 and 41 years old. There are no details about their health status.
The main suspect in the crime is a 15-year-old teenager. The man approached the front of the establishment and shot several times at patrons for no apparent reason.
Videos record the panic at the time of the shooting. The commercial establishment's security cameras recorded the entire action. It is possible to see that the establishment was busy, with customers gathered, when a man armed with a pistol enters the place and shoots.
Civil and Military Police are working to capture the shooter. The Public Security Secretariat of Paraná stated that the investigation into the firearm shooting in Campo Mourão is ongoing.
The suspect's mother and girlfriend were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the case. Images from surveillance cameras and information collected by the police showed that the suspect had left a residence shortly before the police arrived in a vehicle driven by his girlfriend.
The car was later located, and the driver confirmed that she had supported the teenager's escape. She, whose name was not released, stated that she left it on a road with access to a state highway. The woman was arrested for helping the suspect escape.
The suspect's mother was arrested for being in possession of two pieces of ammunition, portions of narcotics, signal blocking antennas and explosive material. The investigation is ongoing to clarify his relationship with the crime. The bomb squad team was at the scene of the seizures and carried out the technical and safe handling of the explosive material.
