The report found that Tapia received inquiries from other markets in recent weeks. Despite this, the Chilean striker prioritizes the transfer to the Columbus Crew and has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the North American franchise.
Behind the scenes, São Paulo believes that this factor tends to be decisive for the American franchise to give in to the club's biggest request for the striker's release.
As UOL showed, the initial proposal provided for a one-season loan at no cost and with a purchase option clause valued at US$1.5 million (approximately R$7.6 million). São Paulo, however, understands that the amount is below the player's value, given recent inquiries that Tapia has received.
Although there are other possibilities discussed, the understanding is that, if he were to leave São Paulo, the striker's priority continues to be to work in the USA.
LITTLE SPACE
Tapia arrived at São Paulo about a year ago, but was only signed permanently at the beginning of the season, as part of the negotiation involving Giuliano Galoppo and River Plate.
Tricolor agreed to a permanent exchange that took the Argentine midfielder to the Buenos Aires club and guaranteed, in return, the stay of Enzo Díaz and the Chilean. To complete the operation, São Paulo used 50% of Galoppo's economic rights and began to share the rest with River Plate.
At the time, the board evaluated the deal as positive for transforming the departure of a player without space in the squad into the arrival of two athletes who were part of the plans for the season.
Despite initial expectations, Tapia was unable to establish himself as a starter. The striker has lost space over the last few months and, this Sunday (19), the understanding at Morumbis is that a loan could provide more minutes on the field and increase the value of the Chilean, while providing relief on the salary bill.
