The RX unit will bring together all of the company's skills and competitive advantages in the area, ranging from the development of medium and long-term strategies to the creation of essential technologies and the commercialization of products, the South Korean company said on Tuesday (21).
Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President Dongkun Lee will lead the team responsible for defining the new division's strategy. The company also plans to set up research centers in the United States, China and Japan.
Samsung is the largest shareholder in Rainbow Robotics, a South Korean robotics company founded in 2011. The company's shares rose 6.7% this Tuesday on the Seoul Stock Exchange.
